Review of all Hitachi 2014-2015 catalogue news
Today we’re going to take a look at all the new products in the Hitachi 2014 air conditioning catalogue from the company founded by Namihei Odaira in 1910 in Japan.
1X1 Air Conditioning – Domestic
The new Hitachi 2014 catalogue, with the entry of the new SEER and SCOP energy coefficients imposed by the European Economic Community, brings us great renewal in all Hitachi air conditioning ranges, both in domestic split units and in their console, duct and cassette unit variants.
Split air conditioning
Hitachi PREMIUM PSB SENSOR series
In the series of split air conditioners is where we can see a majority renovation of the catalogue, including in this the spectacular PREMIUM PSB SENSOR series with a new presence sensor (Eco Sensor), ionic mist function, energy ratings A++ and A+++ for the whole series and the new plasma purifier filter with automatic cleaning robot. This series is available in power ratings from 1.8 kW to a maximum of 3.5 kW with prices ranging from 2566 to 2787€ in the catalogue. The models: PREMIUM 18 PSB SENSOR, PREMIUM 25 PSB SENSOR and PREMIUM 35 PSB SENSOR (unit analysed in our high-end air conditioning comparison).
Hitachi AKEBONO PXB series
The next novelty comes from the new AKEBONO PXB series, a split air conditioning unit with capacities ranging from 2.50 kW to 5.00 kW nominal cooling capacity. This series is characterised by the new remote control with Eco Control function and real consumption indicator, the new Wasabi Nano Titanium filter and the presence sensor for greater energy saving. The energy ratings of this series range from A+++ to A+ and the prices of these air conditioning models range from 1224 to 2389€ for the most powerful model.
The models look like this: AKEBONO 25 PXB for the 2.5 kW cooling capacity unit, AKEBONO 35 PXB the 3.5 kW unit and the more powerful 5.0 kW unit the AKEBONO 50 PXB.
Hitachi PERFORMANCE PPB Series
And now we come to the latest unit in the 1X1 series of split air conditioning units available in the Hitachi 2014 catalogue, the PERFORMANCE PPB series the most economical series of Hitachi air conditioning units comes to us with capacities ranging from 2.0 kW to 7.0 kW nominal cooling capacity, available with washable carbon pre-filter, new DC compressor, energy coefficients from A++ to A+ and like the rest of the split unit range with the new Hitachi Eco Control remote control.
This series is available at prices ranging from 895€ for the most economical unit, the PERFORMANCE 18 PPB of 2.0 kW, to 2810€ for the 7.0 kW unit, the PERFORMANCE PPA.
Floor air conditioning (console)
In floor or console air conditioning units the renovation has also been completed across the range with two series available:
AKEBONO F PXA series
This series arrives like the rest with the new Eco Control remote control, Nano Titanium air filter, A++ and A+ energy coefficients and a spectacular drop in indoor sound levels to an incredible sound power of only 20 dB. The AKEBONO F PXA series is available in three different cooling capacities: 2.5 kW, 3.5 kW and 5.0 kW and prices range from 2355€ for the AKEBONO F 25 PXA model, 2453€ for the AKEBONO F 35 PXA unit and 3010€ for the AKEBONO F 50 PXA unit.
CHAMPAGNE GLASS PA series
The CHAMPAGNE GLASS PA series of console inverter air conditioners comes with a new and elegant design, cleaning pre-filter and a new interior deflector for air flow control. This series is also available with the new Hitachi remote control, the Eco Control and the possibility of monitoring the unit’s power consumption.
The power output of this Hitachi console series ranges from 2.5 kW to 5.0 kW and with list prices starting at 1450€ for the CHAMPAGNE GLASS 25 PA.
Duct air conditioning
MONODUCT RAD RPA series
There are no new developments in the duct unit series in the Hitachi 2014 catalogue and the range is led by the MONODUCT RAD RPA series with power ratings ranging from the least powerful, the MONODUCT 25 RPA with 2.5 kW nominal power and a price of 1966€ for the indoor unit and outdoor unit assembly to a configuration with the SPX-RCDA control; and the MONODUCT 70 PPA unit available with 7.1 kW power and a list price of 3371€ and with the same configuration as the SPX-RCDA thermostat/control.
CASSETTE RAI RPA series
The new Hitachi 2014 cassette air conditioning units come with the new CASSETTE RAI RPA series, featuring a new A+ energy class, the integration of the drainage pump, the possibility of H-LINK connection and the Eco Mode for reduced electricity consumption. This series maintains cooling powers from 2.5 kW to 5.0 kW and prices starting at 2335€ for the CASSETTE RAI 25 RPA model.
2X1 and MultiZone air conditioning
In the 2X1 and MultiZone air conditioning unit series there are no major new additions to Hitachi’s 2014 catalogue as the entire range of outdoor and indoor units is maintained with the only inclusion of a new indoor split unit: the MURAL SHIROKUMA with power ratings ranging from 1.8 kW for the RAK-18QXA to 5.0 kW for the RAK-50QXA.
Rest of catalogue
As a conclusion and a brief review of the rest of the important novelties, we must mention the new banking/commercial units with the new centrifugal duct unit UTOPIA CENTRIFUGAL IVX with powers of between 7.1 kW and 23 kW, the new developments in variable refrigerant volume systems or VRF with the new UTOPIA IVX CONFORT and UTOPIA IVX PREMIUM series as well as the new air treatment and renewal units with the new ECONOFRESH series which is added to the rest of the range which already includes the KPI and ACTIVE KPI series.
